I graduated from the University of Illinois in 2011 where I majored in Economics.

In the Spring of 2010 I was lucky enough to study abroad in Rome, Italy for the semester. I learned a lot about food and the Italian way of life. I traveled to 7 different countries and saw a wide range of people and cultures. The experience made a deep impression on me and shaped the way I look at the world.

Since August of 2011, I have worked at Blue Chip, an advertising/marketing firm specializing in brand, retail and healthcare marketing. I work on a number of areas within the Digital discipline, including website front and back end development, CMS administration, search and social media analysis, as well as some design work.

During the Summers of 2009, 2010 and the Winter of 2011 I worked as an intern in the Information Technology department for DuPage County. I was responsible for a wide range of projects and tasks, including providing technical support, researching potential equipment purchases, and optimizing personnel and inventory databases. I have also worked as a crew chief for a house painting company, a food server at a local grill pub, a site coordinator for a youth basketball league, and a concession stand attendant at a park district pool.

My philosophy on writing is best summed up by Paul Graham, who says, "Just as inviting people over forces you to clean up your apartment, writing something that other people will read forces you to think well."
